Somatext™

A term coined by Morgan Goodlander to describe certain words and phrases that are more deeply embedded and influential in the nervous system than others. Somatext™ are not merely 'trigger words'; rather, they are key words or phrases that play a pivotal role in shaping the Organizations of Experience and narratives within the belief systems of individuals and groups. Identifying and modifying Somatext™ is a foundational practice within the GETI.institute's Experience Organization® methodology. Coined in the mid 2000s during workshops at the Gestalt Institute of San Francisco, the full definition of the word has recently been published in An Introductory Lexicon of Experience Organization® | 2026 | First Edition.
